In recent years, he has decided to diversify his work, incorporating artistic nude photography into his repertoire, moving slightly away from fashion and documentary photography.

THE MEANING OF THE COLOR BLACK IN CULTURE

The color black holds diverse meanings across different cultures. In many parts of the West, Latin America, and Japan, it is primarily associated with death, mourning, and sadness, but also with elegance and formality.

THE EROTICISM OF BO MICHAL

Bo Michal is an amateur photographer whose work spans various styles, such as architecture, landscapes, nature, fashion, portraiture, and artistic nude photography, often with a surreal or quirky touch.

He began his photography career at the age of 12, when he got his first camera. Until early 2017, his primary focus was on nature, but everything changed when he participated in his first Nude Art Workshop, which took place in an abandoned factory near Randers. In September and October of that same year, he attended two more nude art workshops in Aarhus, experiences that fully immersed him in the world of Artistic Nude Photography.

From an evolutionary perspective, the need to exhibit oneself may have deep roots in our biology. Throughout human history, showcasing certain physical traits has been a key tool for survival and reproduction. This behavior could be related to sexual selection, where physical attractiveness symbolizes youth, health, and fertility, increasing the chances of finding a suitable partner.

Exhibiting oneself may also have been a primitive way of communicating availability and highlighting procreative abilities. In this sense, the physical traits being displayed are not just a matter of aesthetics but a sign of survival of the fittest, demonstrating good genetic conditions.

Furthermore, competition between individuals has been an important evolutionary driver, and the exhibition of physical qualities allowed our ancestors to stand out from others, thus increasing their reproductive opportunities. Lastly, in early human societies, this behavior may have been key to integrating into the group and ensuring the protection and social cooperation necessary for survival.

Today, even though we live in a modern society, those primitive instincts remain present. The need to exhibit has evolved and is now reflected on social media, where we showcase the best of ourselves to survive in a digital environment, earn money, stand out from others, and capture attention. What was once a tool for finding a partner and ensuring survival has now become a means to gain followers, obtain validation and opportunities, and, in many cases, monetize our image and skills. In the end, we continue using exhibition as a way to thrive and adapt to the current rules of the game.

The mechanical bull originated as a training tool for cowboys in rodeos in the early 20th century, simulating the movement of a real bull in a safer way. In the 70s and 80s, it gained popularity as an attraction in bars and events, especially boosted by the movie Urban Cowboy (1980).
